Best known for films such as The Gleaners and I and The Beaches of Agnès, acclaimed filmmaker and artist Agnès Varda released a short film in 2003 called Le lion volatil (The Volatile Lion). It's inspired by the Lion of Denfert-Rochereau, a statue in the fourteenth arrondissement of Paris.
